Hello!



Hi, I'm Sim, and I am nothing without my hobbies. I am a potter, leatherworker, and now learning metalworking, based in Sydney's north. By day I work in finance but Terra & Sim is where I get to be really creative.

I created Terra & Sim because of my love of working with natural materials and a desire to create things that feel grounded in the land they come from. The name felt natural too. Terra for the earth, Sim, because that's me.


It all started with a journal I made for myself. I loved the process of it, the repetition, the slowness. One thing led to another and here we are!

Each piece is made slowly and with care, by hand. These are unique, simple and enduring objects, to be used, loved and kept for a long time. Hope you like my stuff x

  • Commonplace & Media

    I am an avid consumer of media, in the form of books and movies (I love going to the cinema), but also music and podcasts. This is where I record my thoughts about whatever I am reading, watching or listening to. And I also use this for my commonplace.

    It is a bifold in the Field A6 size, with a front pocket and it also has a full hidden internal pocket, in Navy (Smooth) & Raspberry Metallic.

  • Creativity & Travel

    As a person of many hobbies, this is where I record my ideas for things I would like to make.

    And it's also where my travel journal lives. A page a day whilst I am on holiday. Because that's when my brain is properly creative.

    I added a memory frame to this one so I could put in a photo of me with my favourite human.

    It is a bifold in the Everyday A5 size, with a large internal flap pocket, and 2 smaller pockets, in the Navy (Rustic) and Memory Frame in Dark Brown.

  • Some serious stuff, and some less serious stuff

    My work lives in this journal. A notebook for my day job. And a notebook for Terra & Sim.

    The Terra & Sim notebook is sometimes serious, things like inventory and customer enquiries and finances. But other times it is ideas and where I want to take my teeny tiny small business. I use this one almost every single day.

    It is a trifold in the Everyday A5 size, with a front pocket and a full hidden internal pocket, in Dark Brown and Paprika Red.
